Job summary

Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a full-time Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our inpatient team. The position offers a 36-hour work week with three weeknights and one weekend per month, along with full benefits.

The MHT will support patient care, safety, observation, and group activities, under nursing supervision. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in health or human services or equivalent experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health or human services is required.
• Two professional references from supervisors/managers and two from peers are required before offer.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients across the care continuum.
• Monitors patients and conducts observation rounds to ensure safety and identify risk.
• Performs basic patient care and assists with daily living activities; supports admission/discharge processes.
• Follows infection control policies, including hand hygiene and surface cleaning.
• Educates patients and families; supports staff education and collaborative care.
• Works as part of the care team to coordinate integrated patient care.
