Job summary

Hickory Behavioral in Cambridge, OH is seeking a Full-time Mental Health Technician (MHT) to support the treatment team and ensure the person-centered plan is implemented.

Under the Chief Nursing Officer, you will monitor, observe, and report on client activity, help maintain structure, supervise groups, and assist with intake and discharge tasks. CPR within 30 days, evenings, and weekend rotations are required. Benefits include 401k, health and vision insurance, PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior psychiatric and/or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, including telephone and in-person.
• Professional boundaries with patients.
• Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, and provide patient-driven service.
• CPR certification required within first 30 days.
• Schedule flexibility, including holidays and weekends.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Encourages patients attend groups and participate in treatment programs.
• Monitors and assists clients when they're not in treatment programs.
• Performs patient intake including screens and body searches.
• Monitors compliance with hospital rules.
• Assists patients with telephone use per policy.
• Accompanies patients during smoke and outside breaks at all times.
• Audits shift notes for completion and accuracy.
• Documents shift notes, safety rounds, and patient belongings inventory in the EMR.
• Performs duties for discharge including gathering all patients belongings.
• Monitors 1:1, Q5s, Q15s, and line-of-sight orders.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and OSHA procedures.
• Follows PI activities and reports patient concerns.
