Job summary

Alton Memorial Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks a MLT/MLS II to perform routine and complex testing on blood and specimens in the AMH Main Lab. The role includes operating instrumentation, QC, and reporting results through the lab system, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Life/biology or related field required.
• Certification eligible or ASCP/AMT/AAB eligible is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate lab results.

Responsibilities

• Report patient test results via the LIS with timely turnaround times.
• Perform routine and complex testing on blood and other specimens.
• Operate instrumentation and perform quality controls and basic maintenance.
• Train new personnel on procedures and equipment in the assigned area.
• Identify and resolve testing or quality issues and participate in process improvements.
