St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI examinations under department direction. The role emphasizes accurate patient selection, image quality, and safety protocols.

The position requires ARRT recognition or registry eligibility with Advanced MRI registry within 1 year, and 2+ years of technologist experience, including MRI. Shift: 2 x 10-hour shifts, 1pm-11pm.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT or ARMRIT registry eligible.
• Advanced MRI registry required within 1 year of hire.
• Two years of experience as a staff technologist preferred; 1 year MRI experience preferred; Current BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the successful technical continuity of care for patients receiving MRI studies.
• Communicates to radiologists clinical observations made during MRI examination and presents patient history as documented.
• Demonstrates competency in venipuncture for contrast administration during MRI studies.
• Demonstrates competency in the RIS/HIS modules relevant to responsibilities.
• Assists in gathering, recording data and serving on Radiology Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement committee.
• Adheres to downtime procedures to ensure information availability for continuity of care.
• Maintains ongoing professional development through in-services or continuing education.
• Provides educational information to patients regarding their examination.
• Verifies correct patient selection from worklist and accuracy of Medical Record data before sending to PACS.
• Reviews patient safety checklist prior to patient’s study.
• Supports department success and patient education, including post-visit follow-up.
