Deerfield Park District is seeking a part-time Manager on Duty for Sachs Recreation Center in Deerfield, IL. The MOD oversees daily operations when full-time managers are not on-site, supervising staff and ensuring smooth facility and program operations.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, safety, and policy adherence, with shifts including Monday 5pm-9pm and Friday 5pm-8pm. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, with free fitness center and seasonal pool pass benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, customer service and leadership skills are required.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure.
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills are required.
• CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain).
• Genuine interest in working with people of all ages in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee front desk, fitness floor, and daily facility schedule.
• Supervise and support part-time staff; report performance issues as needed.
• Respond promptly to member and guest inquiries, concerns, and requests.
• Handle cash and credit transactions; process daily deposits.
• Secure facility, set alarms, and follow closing procedures.
• Conduct tours, process memberships, and promote the recreation center.
• Maintain a clean, professional front desk and facility environment.
• Ensure all policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Perform general administrative duties as needed.
• Must be able to open and close the facility independently
