Job summary

The Deerfield Park District seeks a part-time Manager on Duty to oversee the facility when full-time managers are off-site. You will supervise staff, manage the daily schedule, and ensure exceptional member service in the Sachs Recreation Center.

Hours are evenings and weekends; compensation is $20–$22 per hour. Must be 21+, with strong communication and cash-handling skills, and CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain it. Join a community-focused team dedicated to health and recreation.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21.
• Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure.
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills required.
• CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain).
• Genuine interest in working with people of all ages in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee front desk, fitness floor, and daily facility schedule.
• Supervise and support part-time staff; report performance issues as needed.
• Respond promptly to member and guest inquiries, concerns, and requests.
• Handle cash and credit transactions; process daily deposits.
• Secure facility, set alarms, and follow closing procedures.
• Conduct tours, process memberships, and promote the recreation center.
• Maintain a clean, professional front desk and facility environment.
• Ensure all policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Perform general administrative duties as needed.
• Must be able to open and close the facility independently.
