Job summary

Research Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, Inc., seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist for the evening shift (8am-4:30pm) on a part-time basis in Kansas City. The MLS will perform tests across toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

The role requires a Bachelors in laboratory science, and certification or eligibility (MT/CLS/MLS) with mandatory Blood Bank experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related field required.
• Certification or registry eligible; must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Blood Bank experience required; other areas considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
• Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas as designated.
• Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipment, and monitoring quality control measures.

Education

Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related science

MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification

Registry/certification eligible; must be obtained within 1 year of hire
