Job summary

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 to join the evening shift team. The role emphasizes quality assurance, QC procedures, and accurate result reporting while supporting inspections and ensuring SOP compliance.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in science with MLS/MT certification preferred and have 1 year of clinical experience; ASCP/AMT certification is expected upon start to align with responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science required; MLS/MT certification preferred or ASCP/AMT eligible.
• 1 year clinical laboratory experience within NAACLS/ABHES-accredited program accepted in lieu of full-time experience.
• ASCP or AMT board certification/eligibility required to begin role.

Responsibilities

• Review technical activities for quality/compliance per facility SOPs.
• Prepare and support laboratory inspections and audits.
• Follow SOPs and document knowledge; read SOP annually and update training.
• Perform QC procedures and document results; investigate discrepancies.
• Serve as resource for coworkers and patients on technical questions; ensure accurate reporting.
