Job summary

WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to perform routine and specialized testing of body fluids and to identify microorganisms for diagnostic purposes. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science and MLS (ASCP) or AMT certification, with 24 months of experience as a Medical Technologist/MLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science is required.
• MLS (ASCP) or AMT certification in Medical Technology is required.
• Two-year (24 months) experience as Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized testing of body fluids with supervision as appropriate.
• Inoculate, cultivate, classify, and identify microorganisms in specimens to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Record data from medical tests and prepare analyses and reports for patient records.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Consult with medical staff on laboratory services; work evening shift (11 PM–7 AM).
