Qualifications

• Experience as a caregiver and medication tech in memory care or assisted living.
• Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Must obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive and professional demeanor with residents.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.
• Create and uphold a warm, patient, enthusiastic and calm environment.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders under RN supervision.
• Administer medications accurately and timely.
• Record medications in the resident’s EMR.
• Notify pharmacy or family when refills are needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor for side effects and report to the Director of Health Services.
• Complete shift reports with sufficient information for med order changes.
• Follow care plans related to medication administration.
• Assist with medical appointments and advocate for residents’ needs.
• Observe residents for health changes and monitor vital signs.
• Document status changes in the EMR.
• Complete accident and incident reports promptly.
• Perform delegated nursing tasks as assigned by the RN.
• Participate in in-service education programs.
• Report changes to the Director of Health Services promptly.
• Follow written and oral directions and work professionally.
