Job summary

Elderwood at Cheektowaga is seeking Medication Technicians to join our Assisted Living clinical team. Full-time or part-time evening shifts available. Applicants must have a NYS Personal Care Aide or Home Health Aide license and prior meds passing experience.

Med Techs help residents with personal care, medication administration, and adherence to safety standards, reporting to the nursing team and following care plans.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• Successful completion of a medication technician training program within the last 12 months preferred
• Must pass Elderwood Medication Technician test
• Certification by an approved basic training program in home health aide services preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Long term care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Directs/assists with safe, proper administration of medication to assigned residents.
• Administer medications and treatments to residents as ordered by physician.
• Responsible for storage and distribution of controlled substances, labeling and use.
• Respond promptly to resident requests and document care as required.
• Communicate with nurse and physicians for orders or changes in condition.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living per care plan (ADL)
• Maintain safety and confidentiality of resident information and privacy.
