Job summary

EveryAge in Newton, NC, is hiring a full-time Medication Aide for the 3-11pm shift. The role requires a current CNA and Certified Medication Aide certification, and a minimum of three months of nursing assistance experience.

Training program completion and ongoing in-service compliance are required. Responsibilities include medication administration under RN supervision, adhering to policies, and excluding certain injections or tube medications.

Qualifications

• Must have a current CNA and Certified Medication Aide in Skilled Nursing certification.
• High School graduate or GED.
• Minimum of three (3) months work experience in basic nursing procedures for nursing assistants preferred.
• Successfully completed the state approved training program including competency evaluation and facility orientation program.
• Successfully completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program and has current certification with no allegations of abuse or neglect and current in services.

Responsibilities

• Provides medication administration for residents in assigned area following policies and procedures.
• Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse in accordance with physician’s orders, company and industry standards and federal and state regulations.
• Administer medication as directed in the Medication Administration policies and procedures (excluding injections, g-tube, j-tube or nasogastric tubes and IV medications).
