Responsibilities

• Receives blood specimens sent to laboratory and prepares for testing.
• Tests specimens of patients of all ages per CLIA guidelines under supervision.
• Maintains compliance with departmental safety and infection control standards.
• Receives stock items and distributes them within the laboratory.
• Performs quality control and instrument checks and maintains records.
• Assists in care and maintenance of lab work area and equipment.
• Prepares solutions and reagents used in tests; monitors supplies.
• Participates in safety training and follows hazardous materials procedures.
