Job summary

Vanderbilt Health seeks a dedicated nursing support associate to assist in processing and implementing orders for patient care. You’ll report to the charge nurse and clinical director, collaborating with nursing, physicians, and families to ensure quality care across the unit.

Three 12-hour shifts, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., rotating based on unit need. The role emphasizes self-direction, attention to safety, infection control, and compassionate communication in a busy academic health system.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal communication skills are required for this role.
• Transcription and information gathering support for physicians and nurses.

Responsibilities

• Accurately transcribes physician orders
• Answers patient call lights and relays messages to staff in a timely manner
• Assists physicians with obtaining needed information on patients
• May assist nurses with tasks if needed
• May assist with moving, transferring, bathing, dressing and other patient ADL's if needed
• Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety
• Follows infection control standards
• Filing as needed
