Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for the Bangor, ME hospital-based laboratory (Northern Lights Hospital). Evening shift, Monday–Friday 2:00 PM–10:30 PM with rotational weekends, holidays and on-call.

The role performs tests in Hematology & Chemistry with rotation into Cardiac or Stat Lab, ensuring quality control, instrument troubleshooting and accurate reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• One (1) year full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.
• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP Certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing and troubleshooting instruments/procedures.
• Provide support in quality control, problem solving, instrument maintenance, staff training, and process improvement.
• Perform and report analytical tests per SOPs and ensure QC requirements are met.
• Enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for standardized reporting.
• Adhere to safety requirements and maintain a safe, sanitary lab environment.
