Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for the Evening Shift to support high-quality laboratory services in Des Moines, Iowa. Join a team at a major regional hospital dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care.

The role requires an associate degree in a science-related field, completion of an NAACLS/ABHES-accredited MLT program (or equivalent) and national certification (ASCP or AMT) or eligibility to sit the exam within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree in a science-related field.
• Completion of NAACLS or ABHES accredited MLT program (or equivalent) is required.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or AMT) is required or eligible to sit exam within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical information resource for MercyOne Des Moines Laboratory.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance and troubleshoot to resolve them.
• Consult with Medical Technologists/Medical Laboratory Scientists when appropriate.
• Perform tasks in assigned section with minimal supervision.

Education

Associate's degree in science-related field

NAACLS or ABHES accredited MLT program or equivalent

Certification in MLT (ASCP or AMT)

Eligibility to sit certification exam within 6 months of hire
