Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa in Des Moines is hiring a Medical Lab Technician to support our Des Moines Laboratory. This full-time role offers an evening shift and a 40-hour week within a large health system.

As a Medical Lab Technician, you will identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test results, consult with technologists, and perform duties in your section with minimal supervision. An associate degree and certification eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in science-related field is required.
• NAACLS or ABHES accredited MLT program or equivalent certification eligibility required.
• Certification as MLT by ASCP or AMT is required, with registration due within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical information resource for MercyOne Des Moines Laboratory.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance and troubleshoot.
• Consult with Medical Technologists and/or Medical Laboratory Scientists when appropriate.
• Perform tasks in assigned section with minimal supervision.

Education
