Job summary

MercyOne Health System Des Moines is seeking a Med Technologist for the Evening Shift. You will act as a technical information resource, troubleshoot test performance, and may assume charge technologist duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting specimen quality and instrument performance, operating LIS and related software, training new staff, and delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers. Relocation may be considered.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Chemistry, Biology or related field.
One-year clinical internship in NAACLS-accredited program or approved alternate path.
Certification MLS/MT by ASCP, AMT, or AAB.
Completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot specimen quality, instrument performance and analytical interferences.
Train new employees and act as preceptor for laboratory students.
Operate LIS, PCs, and instrument-related software.
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
May assume duties of charge technologist and support phlebotomy as needed.
