Job summary

The candidate must hold a CNA and Med Tech license, complete the Medication Aide Course, and be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification within 60 days. Lifting and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents or concerns to RN/LPN or supervisor.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and keep common areas clean.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs.
• Provide emotional support to new residents during move-in.
• Complete medication cart audits and document in EMAR/Daily Log.
• Communicate medication needs to the HCD and document in records.
• Attend medication trainings and maintain professional appearance.
