Job summary

Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. (AFNA) in San Diego, CA seeks an experienced maintenance technician to maintain food processing equipment and facilities utilities.

You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC systems, performing preventive maintenance and supporting line startups in a fast-paced plant environment. The role requires hands-on skills with test equipment, welding/fabrication, and strong communication to coordinate with operations and supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Technology or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience with electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of general safety, lock-out tag-out, forklift safety, ARC Flash and ESD awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs production equipment systems and devices and performs preventive maintenance.
• Performs inspections and predictive checks to identify early signs of failure and schedule maintenance.
• Performs installations and relocations of equipment and manages startups/shutdowns per SOPs and safety rules.
• Assist team leaders and line operators with startup and equipment adjustments; help troubleshoot with maintenance staff.
• Provide updates on project status, completion times and any problems to supervisor.
