Job summary

Clarkson University seeks a Maintenance Mechanic for the Evening Shift (2:30pm–1:00am) to perform maintenance, repair and preventative work on buildings and equipment. Duties include basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, and at least one year in building/maintenance. Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred; valid NYS driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and buildings operate efficiently.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluids, and filters, following checklists.
• Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other building components.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical work not requiring a license.
• Assist with safety and energy management tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
