Job summary

Somerset Ridge Center is seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The role focuses on maintenance and basic repairs to keep our center grounds and facilities safe and well‑kept.

You will follow directions from the Maintenance Director, maintain tools, and perform minor repairs as needed. This evening position emphasizes reliable service and a proactive approach to resident safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with basic wiring, plumbing or carpentry knowledge.
• Reading, writing, speaking and understanding English required.
• HIPAA compliance and safety regulations adherence.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard maintenance tasks on center grounds and facilities.
• Carry out minor repairs on rails, flooring, walls, ceilings and equipment as directed.
• Maintain and protect tools and equipment; keep work areas clean and safe.
• Provide customer service to residents and colleagues; assume supervisor duties in absence.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant provides a variety of standard and unskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of center grounds and facilities.

Job Skills

• Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director.
• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the Maintenance Director.
• Takes care of the tools and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carriers, lifts, and stocks supplies.
• Assumes supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence.
• Puts customer service first.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA laws.
• This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Comply with all vaccination and testing requirements as required by state and federal regulations.

Job Type: Evenings 4 pm - 8 pm, 3 days a week including Friday. Saturday 8 am - 4pm !
