Job summary

Somerset Ridge is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The role supports maintenance of center grounds and facilities, following the Maintenance Director's directions, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for residents.

Responsibilities include basic repairs, tool care, and assisting with tasks across electrical, plumbing and carpentry areas. The position emphasizes customer service and may require stepping in for supervision when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Comply with HIPAA and vaccination/testing requirements as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance and repair of center grounds and facilities.
• Follow directions from the Maintenance Director and maintain safe, clean areas.
• Perform minor repairs on rails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, and electrical items.
• Care for tools and equipment; handle supplies and parts as needed.
• Possess customer service mindset and perform other duties as requested.
• Assume supervisor responsibilities in absence of the Maintenance Director.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant provides a variety of standard and unskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of center grounds and facilities.

Job Skills

• Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director.
• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the Maintenance Director.
• Takes care of the tools and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carriers, lifts, and stocks supplies.
• Assumes supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence.
• Puts customer service first.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA laws.
• This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Comply with all vaccination and testing requirements as required by state and federal regulations.

Job Type: Evenings 4 pm - 8 pm, 3 days a week including Friday. Saturday 8 am - 4pm !
