Job summary

Sarah Brayton Nursing Center in Fall River, MA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support building and grounds upkeep, safety, and minor repairs. You will follow directions from the Maintenance Director and help maintain clean, safe facilities for residents and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to read and follow instructions, and basic wiring, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge. Valid driver's license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair basic functions as directed and perform minor repairs (handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, etc.).
• Take care of tools and equipment; assume supervisor's responsibilities in absence.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant provides a variety of standard and unskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of center grounds and facilities.

Job Skills

• Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director.
• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the Maintenance Director.
• Takes care of the tools and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carriers, lifts, and stocks supplies.
• Assumes supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence.
• Puts customer service first.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA laws.
• This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Comply with all vaccination and testing requirements as required by state and federal regulations.

8 hour shift - (Days 8am - 4pm)
