Job summary

Rutgers University seeks a Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse for Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ. The role provides direct patient care within the correctional setting and participates in data collection to support care plans.

The nurse collaborates with RNs to implement the plan, informs patients and families about health and discharge planning, and ensures accurate documentation of care. Evening, on-site, 40-hour work week with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Licensed Practical Nurse in New Jersey with an active license.
• CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in data collection related to the patients’ status and needs.
• Provides input to Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care by communicating information pertinent to the patient’s status.
• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
• Informs and instructs patients/significant others on patient’s health/illness state and plan of care.
• Assists patient/significant other in preparation for discharge and health maintenance in the home.
• Documents all aspects of patient care.
