Job summary

Hyatt Regency Schaumburg is seeking a Full-Time Barista for the Hotel Lobby Market. The role involves preparing a variety of hot and cold food items with a strong culinary foundation, in a fast-paced hotel kitchen. Candidates should have 5+ years in professional kitchens and excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
• Proficiency in preparing a wide range of dishes including using kitchen tools and appliances.
• Strong verbal communication skills in a high-pressure team environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare a variety of hot and cold food items with precision and presentation.
• Kitchen Equipment Use: Operate grills, fryers, ovens, slicers and utensils following safety protocols.
• Inventory & Stock Management: Retrieve, organize, store ingredients, rotate stock and label with expiration dates.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, sanitized work area and comply with guidelines.
• Team Collaboration: Work with kitchen staff to ensure efficient prep and plating during peak service times.
• Food Presentation: Present dishes attractively meeting quality and visual standards.
