Arriba Abajo, a Cantina-themed Bar and Restaurant inside the Thompson Austin hotel, seeks a Line Cook with hotel cooking experience and culinary degree preference. The role requires working single stations, supervising training, and delivering consistent, timely dishes to guests in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, food knowledge, and a customer-focused approach to ensure high standards across all kitchen operations within a premier downtown venue.

Qualifications

• Refined verbal communication skills.
• 2 years of previous line experience preferred.
• Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred.
• Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking skills.
• Able to work single station in the kitchen.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must have open availability including day shift, evening shifts, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Monitor food production, quality and consistency on a daily basis.
• Oversee staffing levels and department training.
• Provide direction in the Sous' absence.
• Produce a consistent product to meet and exceed guests' needs in a timely manner.
