Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a Lead Processing Technician to accession and manually process laboratory specimens with high accuracy and efficiency. You will guide day-to-day workflow, participate in meetings, and support process improvements in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role includes supervising a team during evening hours (3:00pm–11:00pm), performing QA activities, and ensuring SOPs are followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate’s Degree (Science) with two years lab processing experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Medical Laboratory Science can substitute for two years experience.
• Four years of lab technician or comparable processing experience may substitute the Associate’s Degree requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance).
• Perform problem solving and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring).
• Perform QA activities (pending log audit).
• Oversee shift operations and manage workflow issues.
• Adjust daily schedule as needed.
• Act as a technical resource, ensuring SOPs are followed and FVPM of equipment is performed.
• Assist in troubleshooting.
• Inform management of issues and communicate between shifts.
