Job summary

Walnut Grove Care & Rehab Center is seeking a compassionate Laundry Assistant for a Part-Time Evening shift to maintain clean linens and garments for residents. You will operate washers/dryers, sort and prepare items, and help ensure infection control and safety standards are met.

The role offers competitive pay, PTO after 30 days, holidays with premium pay, tuition reimbursement, and a 401(k) plan. Previous experience is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Must maintain a working email address and phone number.
• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally.
• Physically able to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills for phone/computer use.
• Follow infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Loads articles into washer and dryer.
• Soaks contaminated articles per policy.
• Sorts dried articles and places in bins.
• Lubricates machines as needed.
• Mends torn articles and counts items.
• Ironing of required items.
• Mixes dyes and bleaches per formula.
• Reads equipment operation manuals.
• Follows safety and sanitation standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
