Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Florida is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee laboratory operations, budgets and quality assurance. You will supervise staff, ensure timely reporting of results and maintain competency across testing personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from a four-year college or university.
• OR Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university.
• Education and training equivalent to meet ASCP Board of Certification qualifications for Histotechnologist (HTL).
• Education and training equivalent to meet ASCP Board of Certification qualifications for Cytotechnologist (CT).
• State of Florida supervisor’s license in one or all disciplines.
• Five years of clinical laboratory training and/or experience in high complexity testing.
• Two years of clinical laboratory management or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and ensure patient safety.
• Lead budgeting, fiscal performance and quality assurance initiatives.
• Collaborate with department leaders to optimize turnaround times.
• Ensure staff competency via regular in-service training and evaluations.
• Identify training needs and supervise staffing, hiring and scheduling.
