Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a part-time Phlebotomist for evenings with holiday and weekend rotation. You will perform pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic lab workflows, including specimen collection, processing and CLIA waived tests, while delivering patient-centered service.

Qualified candidates are High School graduates with basic computer skills and good English. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a busy laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Fluent English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Basic knowledge of lab computer systems (Sunquest, EPIC).
• Customer/patient focused with safety awareness.
• Multicultural sensitivity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and identify samples using two identifiers.
• Perform venous and capillary blood collections for all ages.
• Receive, process, aliquot, and prepare samples for testing.
• Perform CLIA waived testing according to manufacturer specs.
• Follow reporting protocols and manage pending tests.
