Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of progressively responsible related work experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of computer systems and software used in laboratory.
• Ability to learn new procedures and adapt to technological changes.

Responsibilities

• Accesses patient information into Laboratory Information Systems and checks requests for accuracy.
• Prepares specimens and maintains stock cultures for testing and QC.
• Performs routine instrument maintenance and logs transactions per procedures.
• Inventories and restocks supplies for the lab and handles documentation.
• Monitors temperatures of incubators, freezers, and other units.
• Organizes, catalogs and stores patient specimens for analysis.
• Performs pre-analytical processing of specimens as directed.
