Job summary

Burlington, MA – Lahey Clinic is hiring a Lab Specimen Processor for 20 hours per week in the evening shift. This role supports the clinical lab workflow by labeling, processing, and routing specimens with attention to patient safety and specimen integrity.

You will work under supervision to handle specimens, operate basic instrumentation, and assist with routine lab tasks as needed. This position requires accuracy, basic phlebotomy training, and good communication with team members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-year related laboratory experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to prepare specimens and operate instrumentation.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper labeling and identification of specimens and requisitions.
• Inventories and maintains supplies; restocks workstations.
• Monitor reagents and supplies; ensure timely purchasing.
• Receive, archive, and discard specimens per procedures.
• Prepare benches and reload instruments for daily workload.
• Monitor equipment temperature; maintain charts.
• Transport hazardous waste following policy.
