Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician to receive, process, and distribute clinical specimens. The role operates on a swing shift with potential schedule rotation and requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

The position emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and ability to follow established lab procedures within our onsite facility at 90 Blossom Street. Prior lab or healthcare experience is preferred, with education aligned to a related field.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree Related Field preferred or High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience: 1-2 years in a laboratory or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: precision, following procedures, teamwork, and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and distribute clinical laboratory specimens (blood, urine, tissue).
• Verify patient information and accession samples into the LIMS; prepare samples for testing.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment; ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling, storage, and disposal; comply with accreditation requirements.
• Collaborate with staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely processing.
