ProHealth Physicians in Wallingford, CT, part of UnitedHealth Group's Optum family, has an immediate opening for a Lab Clerk. This part-time role is 30 hours per week, with a schedule Monday–Friday 4pm–10pm and rotating Saturdays.

You will perform specimen processing duties, maintain accuracy, document properly, and grow within the Specimen Processing area. The site offers comprehensive benefits and a path for progression.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Previous related experience desirable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• All responsibilities of the Specimen Processing.
• Exceeds productivity and quality standards.
• Solves more complex problems on a routine basis.
• Understands how Specimen Processing impacts testing.
• Identifies problems with specimen types and missing information.
• Understands the relationship between test orders and results.
• Completes required written documentation on time.
• Meets quality and production standards within 6 months of training.
• Learn additional functions within Specimen Processing.
• Adheres to all laboratory policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties after 90 days of training.

Prohealth Physician Laboratories in Wallingford, CT has an immediate opening for a responsible, hardworking and detail-oriented Lab Clerk to join our team. This position is 30 hours per week with the schedule for the role being Monday-Friday from 4pm-10pm with a rotating Saturday.

Primary Responsibilities:

• All responsibilities of the Specimen Processing
• Exceeds productivity and quality standards set by ProHealth Physicians Laboratory
• Solves more complex problems on a routine basis
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of how Specimen Processing impacts the testing laboratory
• Identifies problems with specimen types, missing information etc. and assigns the appropriate TIQ, and in some cases resolve them
• Understands the complex relationship between test(s) ordered and received
• Completes all required written documentation, legibly and within the assigned time frame
• Meets quality and production standards within 6 months of completing training
• Learn additional functions within Specimen Processing to allow for timely progression to the next level
• Adheres to all ProHealth Physicians Laboratory policies and procedures, including safety and compliance
• Performs all other duties as assigned after 90 days training

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer knowledge

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
