Job summary

MercyOne Genesis is seeking a Lab Assistant to support laboratory operations, including collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of tests essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.

The role requires venipuncture skills, accurate specimen labeling, and LIS data entry to maintain data integrity and timely results. Evening shift duties include every other weekend/holiday rotation; a high school diploma or GED and strong computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Laboratory experience and medical terminology preferred.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Capable of working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks per patient age and policy.
• Accepts specimens and requisitions and manages add-ons and pending lists.
• Identifies patients and specimens and labels containers for correct ID.
• Registers and logs specimens in LIS and ensures data accuracy and documentation.
