The organization seeks a Laboratory Clerk to process orders, register patients, manage reference lab testing, print results, and provide laboratory information to Medical Staff with a focus on exceptional client service.

The Evening Shift (3:00pm–11:00pm, Sundays) involves specimen registration, entering demographics, arranging courier pickups,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Exposure to Laboratory terminology and terminology used in the lab.
• Excellent communication and public relations skills.
• Familiarity with computer terminals, keyboards, printers, and PCs.

Responsibilities

• Processes orders and specimens, prints results and reports and provides laboratory information to the Medical Staff.
• Supports outreach by registering patient specimens into the Hospital Computer System and entering demographic/insurance information.
• Responds to outside clients with information and supplies and arranges specimen pickup with courier staff.
• Verifies receipt of specimens in the Laboratory computer and manages orders and test entries.
• Processes tests to reference laboratories and transmits orders to outside labs.
• Receives reference lab reports, enters results, and forwards reports to physicians.
• Prints patient reports, faxes reports, and communicates stat results to physicians.
• Performs other duties as requested.
