Job summary

Columbia-Greene Community College is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant for the Natural Science Division to organize, maintain, and equip science laboratories and assist faculty during and outside scheduled lab sessions. The role reports to the Senior Associate for Natural Science Laboratories and the Chairperson of the Natural and Social Sciences.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
• Must be reliable and committed to an evening academic schedule.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and breaking down all assigned labs. Assigned labs may vary, cross training is required.
• Assisting faculty in lab as needed.
• Working with faculty to help set up all lab exams and practical exams.
• Covering any lab as needed if emergencies/crises arise.
• Keeping lab equipment clean and supplies available and organized.
• Maintaining inventory of evening supplies and equipment.
• Maintaining technical equipment.
• Maintaining records of students and their practice times.
• Driving a van with students to sites of interest in the field.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education
