Job summary

Columbia-Greene University or College seeks a part-time Lab Assistant for the Natural Science Division. The role oversees organizing, maintaining, and equipping science laboratories and supports faculty during and outside scheduled lab sessions.

The position reports to the Senior Associate for Natural Science Laboratories and may receive additional tasks from the Chairperson of the Natural and Social Sciences. Evening hours and NY driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
• Valid New York State driver’s license.
• Willingness to work evening hours.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and breaking down all assigned labs.
• Assisting faculty in lab as needed during labs.
• Helping set up lab exams and practical exams.
• Covering any lab during emergencies or crises.
• Keeping lab equipment clean and supplies organized.
• Maintaining inventory of evening supplies and equipment.
• Maintaining records of students and their practice times.
• Driving a van with students to field sites.
• Other duties as assigned.
