Job summary

Columbia-Greene Community College seeks a part-time Lab Assistant for the Natural Science Division. You will organize, maintain, and equip science laboratories and assist faculty outside and during scheduled lab sessions.

You report to the Senior Associate for Natural Science Laboratories for daily operations and the Chairperson of the Natural and Social Sciences for additional duties. Responsibilities include setting up/breaking down labs, assisting faculty during labs, helping with lab exams,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
• Valid New York State driver's license
• Must be reliable and committed to an evening academic schedule.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and breaking down all assigned labs. Cross training is required.
• Assisting faculty in lab and during labs when needed.
• Help set up lab exams and practicals with faculty.
• Covering any lab as needed during emergencies.
• Keeping lab equipment clean and supplies available and organized.
• Maintain inventory of evening supplies and equipment.
• Maintain technical equipment and records of students and practice times.
• Drive a van with students to field sites.
• Other duties as assigned.
