Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support both inpatient and outpatient testing workflows. You will help with specimen collection, labeling, processing, and distribution to the proper department in a fast-paced hospital laboratory setting.

Responsibilities include setting up testing procedures, processing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation in the hospital information system while maintaining confidentiality and quality control across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; related experience preferred.
• Basic laboratory procedures and safe handling of specimens required.
• Familiarity with LIS and specimen transport workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist with specimen collection and labeling according to dept. standards.
• Prepare and set up procedures, process specimens, and support medical technologists.
• Maintain logs, verify supplies, and document receipt of specimens and results.
