Job summary

Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME is seeking a Kitchen Prep Assistant/Production Assistant to support daily cold and hot food production under the supervision of the Head Chef. You will read recipes, prepare ingredients, assist with service and maintain proper handling and storage procedures.

The role requires two years of food service experience, ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of food service or closely related experience.
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to multi-task.
• Current ServSafe certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for use in recipes for both hot and cold food production.
• Read recipes and prepare to specifications.
• Assist with set up, service, and clean-up of food serving line.
• Follow food handling and storage procedures and monitor temperatures.
• Operate cold food prep equipment and assist in catering functions.
