Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley in Conover, NC is seeking a part-time Child Watch Teacher for the 4pm–8pm, Monday–Thursday shift in our Kid Zone. Under the direction of the Membership Director, you will help ensure the safety and well-being of children and provide a welcoming, learning-friendly environment.

You will supervise children, take attendance, communicate with parents, organize activity areas, and participate in trainings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Current certification in first aid, safety and CPR.
• Knowledge of emergency policies and facility safety procedures.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assuring the safety, health, and welfare of the children.
• Maintaining constant supervision of children.
• Taking daily attendance and keeping required reports.
• Establishing and maintaining effective communication with parents.
• Organizing and maintaining classroom activity areas and supplies.
• Attending staff meetings and required trainings.
• Reporting to the Membership Director as needed.
