Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Materials and Shop Support Technician to manage receiving, unpacking, and inventory control for production materials. You will ensure materials are available when needed and maintain accurate records in line with company procedures.

The role supports production teams with timely material flow, including labeling, tagging, and moving components to machinists and operators. A high school diploma and basic warehouse experience are preferred; safety and accuracy are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1–3 months of experience in production or warehouse environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Intermediate math and reading skills; basic computer literacy.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory processes.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unpack purchased goods; verify contents, condition and quantities against packing slips.
• Perform incoming receipts, print receiving reports, and maintain daily logs.
• Mark raw materials with QA traceability numbers.
• Ensure availability of parts and materials to meet production needs.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of materials received, used and defective items.
• Prepare and issue production orders with materials and finished goods.
