Job summary
Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician specializing in sterile compounding. The role supports high-volume sterile operations within the inpatient pharmacy at Akron General, with an evenings shift from 3:00pm to 11:30pm, and requires meticulous accuracy and adherence to safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a pharmacy technician credential, completion of USP sterile compounding training, and experience with Epic, Pyxis, and Pharmacy Keeper
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a pharmacy department training program including USP sterile compounding competencies and hazardous drug compounding competencies.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
- Proficient typing skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in filling inpatient orders and documenting activity.
- Compound medications according to USP795/USP797 standards.
- Perform sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous medications.
- Prepare, deliver and collect pharmacy items throughout the facility.
- Re-stock automated dispensing cabinets and conduct stock checks.
- Interact with Epic and Pharmacy Keeper for dispensing workflow.
