Job summary

Singing River Health System's Ocean Springs Hospital is hiring a Phlebotomist/Courier for an inpatient shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This role transports specimens, performs venipunctures, and supports the lab with accurate processing and documentation.

The position requires a high school diploma, a driving record, and preferably one year of phlebotomy experience. Training in computer systems and de-escalation is required; offers benefits and career pathways within SRHS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; health/science courses preferred.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred; equivalent education/experience acceptable.
• Must have valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Certifications such as ASCP, APA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, NIHP, MedCA, NPC, AAH or others may be reviewed for approval.

Responsibilities

• Transport and process laboratory specimens to and from clinic sites per procedures.
• Perform venipunctures, heel and finger sticks, and specimen collections for testing.
• Label, preserve, and transport specimens; ensure proper patient identification.
• Complete clerical duties and support the laboratory with documentation and data entry.
• Coordinate with nurses/doctors and communicate effectively with patients in varied settings.
