Job summary

UPMC St. Margaret is hiring a flex full-time evening shift Pharmacist to support our Inpatient Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA. Shifts run 2:30 PM–11:00 PM on a 7-on/7-off cycle, with holidays as needed and two weekends off per month.

Qualifications

Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
Pharmacist degree: PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy.
Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state (PA).
Entry level position; pharmacist experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Act 34.

Responsibilities

Review and manage patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and duplications.
Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare and dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient care.
Prepare and dispense IV solutions using aseptic techniques.
Organize daily tasks and supervise pharmacy staff.
Fill prescription orders following State and Federal regulations.
Use technology to provide pharmaceutical care.
Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals and students.
Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify orders.
Maintain formulary by minimizing non-formulary drugs.
