Job summary

UPMC Passavant is hiring a Full-Time Overnight Pharmacist at the McCandless location in Pittsburgh. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. The role requires interpreting orders, ensuring accurate dispensing, and maintaining regulatory compliance within a high-standard inpatient setting.

Responsibilities include supervising pharmacy staff, promoting rational drug therapy, and communicating with physicians and nurses to clarify orders. Licensure as a pharmacist in the state is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
• B.S in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
• Current pharmacist licensure in practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and evaluate orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate dosage forms.
• Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
• Support formulary by promoting rational drug therapy and minimizing non-formulary procurements.
• Review patient medication records for allergies, interactions and duplications.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and staff involved in pharmaceutical care.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and hospital quality policies.
• Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify orders.
• Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals and students.
• Utilize computer systems in pharmaceutical care and preparation of IV admixtures.

Education

ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy

B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

Current Pharmacist licensure
