Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Security Officer I to protect patients, visitors, staff, and property. Evening shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM), Monday–Friday, with vehicle operation and patrol duties across the organization.

You will monitor surveillance, respond to incidents, prepare reports, and collaborate with multiple departments to maintain a secure, welcoming environment. Requires 1 year in security and a high school diploma; MASADA training and POST certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, fire, military, safety, EMS or customer service
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• MASADA defensive tactical training within 9 months of employment
• Georgia POST certification preferred
• Experience with non-lethal weapons is preferred
• Healthcare experience strongly preferred
• Associate’s degree is preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive Children’s vehicles throughout the organization as needed
• Patrol assigned locations on foot or in a vehicle and report irregularities
• Preserve order and enforce organizational regulations
• Protect evidence or scenes during incidents and act as first responder
• Respond to high-stress situations and assist officers/medical staff
• Collaborate with departments and agencies to ensure safety
• Investigate incidents and write clear reports
• Pass annual physical assessment and meet physical task requirements
