Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Security Officer I to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and property. The role requires patrols, monitoring surveillance, responding to incidents, and enforcing security procedures across hospital facilities.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of security-related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and certifications such as MASADA, POST, and basic life support. Position includes evening shifts and on-site duties.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, fire, military, safety, EMS or customer service
• High school diploma or equivalent
• MASADA defensive tactical training within 9 months of employment
• Georgia POST certification preferred
• Experience with non-lethal weapons preferred
• Healthcare experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive Children’s vehicles as needed and to vendors/sites.
• Patrol assigned locations on foot or vehicle and report irregularities.
• Preserve order and enforce regulations for personnel, visitors, patients and premises.
• Protect evidence and scene of incidents; act as first responder to emergencies.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and agencies to ensure safety of patients, staff and property.
• Investigate incidents and write clear, complete reports with timelines and statements.
